You may have heard of the benefits of having a hot water pressure washer. If you haven’t, you might not know how you could use one.
You can clean your car, wash your carpets and clean the grime off your fenders with a hot water pressure washer. You can also clean your clothes better, and a series of many other cleaning activities because they get cleaner with the help of a hot water pressure washer. You can remove grease stains from your walls. But what if you don’t have anything to clean?
The advantages may seem obvious, but none of these things will happen unless you have a high-quality pressure washer. An electric pressure washer is good for cleaning concrete, pavement and sidewalks, but if you want to wash your car or other nonporous surfaces, then a hot water pressure washer is essential.
How Does the Water Heat in Hot Water Pressure Washers
The water in a hot water pressure washer doesn’t boil until you turn on the heat. In fact, it’s very unlikely that the water will boil at all, because of the lack of pressure difference between the hot and cold spots inside the machine, which is what creates the heat.
There are several ways to determine how long it takes for water in a hot water pressure washer to boil. The most accurate way is to set your pressure washer up to where you’re spraying steam and measure the temperature of the steam in your line. You can then take an insulated thermometer and put it into the steam line and measure the temperature at different places along your hose and pipe for each section. Once you have a number for each section, multiply that number by 1.1 (which is what you’ll be using if you do this) and then divide by 2.
For example, if you get a temperature reading of 160°F at one end of the hose and 200°F at another point along it, that means that it takes 160°F x 1.1 = 169°F to reach boiling. If you get a reading of 260°F at one end of the hose and 270°F at another point along it, that means that it takes 260°F x 1.1 = 286°F to reach boiling.
